Description

Hosting Specialist - Hybrid Cloud

6-Month Contract | Strong Opportunity to Convert to Permanent

We're looking for an experienced Hosting Specialist to join a large, complex technology environment and support the reliability, security and ongoing improvement of its hybrid cloud infrastructure.

This is a hands-on role spanning Azure and on-premises platforms, suited to someone comfortable working across compute, virtualisation, storage, operating systems and automation. You'll help maintain stable day-to-day operations while contributing to platform improvements, security uplift and greater automation.

What you'll be doing

  • Supporting and maintaining hybrid infrastructure across Microsoft Azure and on-premises environments
  • Managing VMware virtualisation platforms, including NSX networking
  • Administering enterprise compute and storage infrastructure
  • Supporting Windows and Linux server environments, ideally including Red Hat Enterprise Linux
  • Monitoring platform availability, capacity, performance and security
  • Troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues across multiple technology layers
  • Automating operational tasks using PowerShell, Python and/or Bash
  • Supporting patching, vulnerability remediation and infrastructure lifecycle activities
  • Contributing to technical documentation, operational standards and continuous improvement
  • Working closely with cloud, network, security and application teams

What we're looking for

  • Strong experience supporting enterprise hosting or infrastructure environments
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and hybrid cloud platforms
  • Strong VMware experience, with exposure to NSX highly regarded
  • Knowledge of enterprise storage and compute technologies
  • Administration experience across both Windows and Linux, with RHEL preferred
  • Scripting or automation skills using PowerShell, Python or Bash
  • A security-first mindset, with an understanding of patching, hardening, vulnerability management and access controls
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work across complex technical environments
  • Clear communication skills and a collaborative approach

Why consider this opportunity?

You'll join a technically varied environment where you can work across both cloud and traditional infrastructure rather than being restricted to a single platform. The role offers a strong mix of operational ownership, engineering, automation and security-focused improvement.

This is an initial six-month contract with the intention and opportunity to convert into a permanent position.

If you're a well-rounded infrastructure specialist who enjoys working across hybrid cloud platforms and improving the way environments are operated, we'd like to hear from you.
