Our Federal Government client are hiring for a highly capable Senior Business Analyst to join the organisation. This role includes but is not limited to high level and detailed business requirements elicitation, analysis and management, enterprise analysis, solution assessment and validation, functional and non-functional requirements elicitation and analysis. Candidates must have Baseline Clearance to be considered for the role.


Role Title: Senior Business Analyst

Contract Role Till: 6 Month initial contract, with a further 6 month extension.

Daily Pay: Market Rates

Location: 50/50 in Office and WFH. Candidates must be based in Sydney or Melbourne and be able to work in the CBD's (2000) or (3000).

Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Specifying Requirements (business, functional and non-functional) - documenting the requirements in a format that can be shared with, and easily understood by, a variety of stakeholders (Business, Executive, Application and Solution Design resources, Development resources and Testing resources). This could be either traditional business requirements documents or User stories for Agile projects.
  • Work with junior team members and, where necessary, provide leadership, delegation and guidance to achieve overall project success.
  • Work with business SMEs and IT teams to analyse business requirements to discover the underlying business need to be addressed, through workshops or discussions with stakeholders.
  • Develop user interface designs utilising User Central Design (UCD) principles and practices to design user interfaces that conform with industry and Australian Government Accessibility and Usability principles, practices, and guidelines.
  • Develop process maps with as-is process analysis and to-be process designs.
  • Quickly learn and understand overall business structure, strategy and how it may impact on work efforts for the team.
  • Assist with testing preparation and execution.
  • Assist with UAT preparation and system implementation including the development of user manuals and training.
  • Display strong skills in managing your own performance (as well as junior BAs in your guidance) to deliver on the organisation's strategic priorities and team business plan.

Experience & Skills Required:

  • Excellent knowledge of IT Systems Development Lifecycles (SDLC) and Agile delivery methodology.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and skill sets associated with eliciting, documenting and managing requirements.
  • Strong experience in the use of industry process modelling tools and requirements management tools.
  • Strong knowledge of process modelling (including the use of BPMN) data analysis and modelling.
  • Excellent application of analytical & problem-solving.
