Description

DevSecOps SME - Automation & AI

We're partnering with a leading financial services organisation seeking an experienced DevSecOps SME to help modernise its software delivery environment.

This is a senior, hands-on role combining DevSecOps engineering, security automation and technical leadership. You'll design end-to-end solutions, improve CI/CD and application security practices, and explore how generative and agentic AI can improve developer productivity and delivery speed.

What you'll be doing

  • Design and implement end-to-end DevSecOps and cloud automation solutions.
  • Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Azure DevOps, Sonar and Artifactory.
  • Embed application security testing and automated quality controls into delivery pipelines.
  • Automate testing throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Develop proofs of concept and value to assess new tools, platforms and approaches.
  • Use technologies such as GitHub Copilot, generative AI and agentic AI to automate processes and improve engineering productivity.
  • Drive continuous improvement across development, testing and delivery practices.
  • Ensure solutions meet security, risk, governance and compliance requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering and delivery teams.
  • Work closely with business, technology, security and risk stakeholders.
  • Support testing, production releases and incident resolution when required.
  • Identify technical and operational risks and communicate these clearly to senior stakeholders.

What we're looking for

  • At least five years' experience across DevSecOps, cloud automation or platform engineering.
  • Strong hands-on experience designing and building CI/CD solutions.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps and related tooling such as Sonar and Artifactory.
  • Strong knowledge of application security testing and security automation.
  • Experience integrating automated testing and security controls into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Practical experience using generative AI tools such as GitHub Copilot.
  • Exposure to agentic AI, AI-enabled automation or developer-productivity solutions.
  • Sound understanding of SDLC, Agile delivery and engineering governance.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent stakeholder-management and technical-leadership skills.
  • The ability to balance delivery outcomes with security, operational and regulatory risk.

Highly regarded

  • Previous experience within financial services or another highly regulated environment.
  • Background in technology consulting.
  • Experience leading proofs of concept for emerging technologies.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent industry experience.

Why consider this opportunity?

You'll join a large, complex technology environment where DevSecOps, security automation and AI-enabled engineering are genuine strategic priorities. This is an opportunity to influence engineering standards, evaluate emerging technology and deliver solutions that improve security, quality and speed across the software-development lifecycle.

If you're a hands-on DevSecOps specialist who can combine technical depth with strong stakeholder engagement, we'd love to hear from you.
