Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Security Engineer to play a key role in protecting critical systems, cloud environments, and enterprise data. Working within a collaborative technology team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation, optimisation, and continuous improvement of cyber security controls across Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 environments.

This is a hands-on technical position focused on security operations, threat detection and response, vulnerability management, security tooling administration, and compliance with Australian cyber security frameworks and standards.

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in cyber security, across the Microsoft security stack.
  • Broad experience across security engineering and security operations.
  • Strong experience administering and securing Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 environments.
  • Demonstrated expertise with Microsoft Defender, Sentinel, Entra ID, Purview, Intune, and related security technologies.
  • Practical experience implementing and maintaining Essential Eight maturity controls within enterprise environments.
  • Strong analytical, investigation, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate security risks and technical concepts to a broad stakeholder audience.
  • Monitor, investigate, and respond to cyber security incidents, alerts, and threats across cloud, identity, network, and endpoint environments.
  • Administer, configure, and continuously improve Microsoft security platforms.
  • Lead vulnerability management activities, security hardening initiatives, and remediation programs aligned with security frameworks and best practice.
  • Support the development and maintenance of security policies, standards, governance processes, and risk management activities.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders, project teams, and external providers to deliver cyber security improvements and uplift organisational security posture.
