Role: Infrastructure Engineer
Day Rate: $650 - $668 + Super
Contract Length: 12-months (high chance of extension)
Location: Ultimo/WFH Flex

We are looking for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join an established enterprise Server Infrastructure team on an initial 12-month contract, with strong potential for extension.

This is a genuinely hands-on engineering role offering a balanced mix of BAU infrastructure operations and project delivery. You'll work across a large Windows Server environment while partnering with project teams and architects on upgrades, improvements and broader infrastructure initiatives.

The Role

You'll be responsible for supporting, administering and improving core server infrastructure, with a particular focus on Active Directory, Windows Server and VMware.

Key Responsibilities

• Administering and supporting enterprise Active Directory environments
• Managing Domain Controllers, DNS, DHCP and Group Policy
• Supporting and administering Windows Server 2016, 2019 and 2022
• Managing VMware environments through vCenter 7+
• Supporting and performing VMware ESXi host upgrades
• Managing Windows Server patching through Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM/SCCM)
• Troubleshooting complex infrastructure and server-related issues
• Working alongside architects and project teams on infrastructure upgrades and initiatives
• Contributing to infrastructure planning, documentation and continuous improvement

About You

• Active Directory, including Domain Controllers, DNS, DHCP and Group Policy
• Windows Server 2016-2022 administration
• VMware vCenter 7+
• VMware virtualisation administration and ESXi upgrades
• Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM/SCCM) for Windows Server patching

Experience in any of the following would be highly regarded:

• Linux - RHEL and/or Ubuntu
• Microsoft Hyper-V
• Citrix, including Citrix Cloud / DaaS
• Cisco UCS and/or HyperFlex

Beyond the technology, you'll be someone who communicates clearly, approaches problems analytically and can work effectively across BAU, architecture and project teams.

This role will suit an experienced Infrastructure Engineer who enjoys being technically hands-on while still having exposure to strategic infrastructure projects and enterprise-scale environments.
