Role:
We are seeking an experienced HRIS Application Manager - IChris to lead the support, maintenance, and continuous improvement of a critical payroll application environment. Reporting to the Head of HCM, you will combine hands-on technical expertise with strong people leadership, ensuring reliable service delivery, operational excellence, and an exceptional experience for stakeholders.
This role leads a team of four application specialists and plays a key part in maintaining the stability, performance, and optimisation of payroll systems and integrations. It is an excellent opportunity for a leader who enjoys balancing technical problem-solving, stakeholder engagement, service improvement, and team development within a large and complex enterprise environment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the delivery of payroll application support services, ensuring system reliability, performance, and service excellence.
- Provide technical leadership during major incidents, complex escalations, and service restoration activities.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Application Specialists, fostering a high-performing and collaborative team culture.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across applications, integrations, processes, and support practices.
- Monitor service levels, operational KPIs, and problem management activities to improve service outcomes and reduce recurring issues.
- Coordinate application upgrades, releases, patches, and implementation activities with minimal business disruption.
- Ensure compliance with cybersecurity, privacy, change management, and operational governance requirements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, vendors, and technology teams to support business objectives.
- Act as an escalation point and trusted advisor for payroll application services.
Your Experience:
- Proven experience leading application support teams within complex enterprise environments.
- Minimum 5 years' experience delivering Level 2 and Level 3 application support services.
- Demonstrated experience supporting, configuring, and administering payroll applications, specifically iChris (Chris21) and/or Workday.
- Strong knowledge of incident, problem, change, and service management practices.
- Experience leading major incidents, complex escalations, and root cause analysis activities.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively across technology teams, business units, and vendors.
- Exposure to application integrations, middleware, APIs, and interface environments.
- Experience working within healthcare, finance, or other regulated industries will be highly regarded.
- ITIL certification and Microsoft, Cloud, Agile, or Project Management certifications are desirable.
