Sydney | Hybrid - 50% office attendance | Initial 6-month contract | Multiple positions
We're seeking three experienced Senior Systems Administrators to support a major infrastructure modernisation program within a complex enterprise environment.
These roles are ideal for hands-on infrastructure professionals with strong experience across Windows Server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux and VMware. You'll be involved in building, configuring, migrating and supporting critical server environments while helping ensure systems are secure, reliable and ready for operational handover.
What you'll be doing
- Building, configuring and supporting Windows and Linux servers using established processes and standards
- Administering Windows Server 2016, 2019 and 2022 environments
- Managing Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP and Certificate Services
- Supporting RHEL environments across patching, hardening, package management and performance tuning
- Administering VMware vSphere and ESXi virtual infrastructure
- Delivering server provisioning, deployment, patching and lifecycle-management activities
- Supporting virtual server migrations, upgrades and broader platform-modernisation initiatives
- Automating operational and administrative tasks using PowerShell and Bash
- Monitoring systems, investigating incidents and resolving complex infrastructure issues
- Completing server validation, readiness testing, documentation and operational handover
- Supporting backup, recovery and disaster-recovery processes
What we're looking for
- Extensive Windows Server and Red Hat Enterprise Linux administration experience
- Strong knowledge of core Windows infrastructure services, including Active Directory and Group Policy
- Solid VMware vSphere and ESXi experience
- Hands-on experience with server provisioning, patching and lifecycle management
- Strong PowerShell scripting and automation capability
- Experience using Bash or Linux shell scripting
- Sound understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, routing and firewall concepts
- Experience with enterprise monitoring, logging and troubleshooting
- Strong documentation, stakeholder communication and problem-solving skills
Experience with server migrations, platform modernisation, Terraform, Puppet, Ansible or other infrastructure automation tools will be highly regarded.
