Senior Security Architect
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Security Architect to help design and embed security into technology solutions across a complex enterprise environment.
Working closely with architects, engineers, delivery teams, and business stakeholders, you will provide security expertise throughout the solution lifecycle, ensuring security requirements are effectively incorporated into new and existing platforms. This role is ideal for a hands-on security professional who enjoys solving technical challenges and influencing secure design outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide security architecture guidance for business and technology initiatives.
- Review solution designs and recommend appropriate security controls.
- Conduct threat modelling, security assessments, and risk reviews.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, product teams, and delivery stakeholders to build secure solutions.
- Contribute to the development of security standards, patterns, and best practices.
- Support the evaluation of emerging technologies and security capabilities.
- Assist in identifying and communicating security risks and remediation options.
- Produce architecture artefacts such as security requirements, solution assessments, and design documentation.
- Promote security awareness and provide advice to project and delivery teams.
About You
You are a collaborative security professional with experience designing secure enterprise solutions and balancing business needs with effective risk management.
- Experience defining security requirements and security controls for technology solutions.
- Understanding of threat modelling, risk assessment, and security design principles.
- Experience working with cloud, infrastructure, applications, or network security technologies.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Cyber Security, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCSP, SABSA, Security+, or equivalent.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Microsoft Azure.
- Exposure to Agile and DevOps delivery environments.
- Experience developing secure cloud-native or API-based solutions.
- Knowledge of emerging technologies, including AI security considerations.
