Principal Technical Specialist - Firewall Security

Talenza is seeking an experienced Principal Technical Specialist to join a big Cyber Security Program on a contract basis.

About the Role
Acting as technical lead on a major firewall replacement and upgrade program, you will lead the deployment, configuration and optimisation of Check Point firewalls (primary platform), with expert support across Palo Alto, F5 (LTM/GTM/WAF) and Cisco routing/switching integration.

Key Responsibilities

• Integrate firewall solutions with Cisco routing and switching for high availability
• Manage firewall rule base optimisation via AlgoSec (NSPM)
• Monitor performance/health using SolarWinds
• Deliver solution designs, ICT change plans, implementation and test documentation
• Advise on emerging requirements and firewall/network security strategy
• Liaise with vendors, project teams and operations to ensure delivery success

About You

• Extensive hands-on experience with Check Point firewalls (build, upgrade, troubleshooting, policy optimisation)
• Strong Palo Alto experience in enterprise environments
• Solid Cisco routing/switching background, particularly firewall integration
• Experience with AlgoSec or equivalent NSPM tools
• Proficiency with SolarWinds or similar monitoring platforms
• Strong understanding of ITIL/ServiceNow change and service management
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, time-critical environment
