Senior CA Datacom DBA | Migration & Support

Bring your specialist CA Datacom expertise to a migration and support engagement for a major banking organisation in New Zealand.

We're looking for an experienced CA Datacom Database Administrator who can take ownership, work independently and bring sound technical judgement to a complex mainframe environment.

This opportunity will suit someone who enjoys solving database challenges and has the depth of experience to deliver with limited day-to-day technical support.

You'll contribute to the Datacom migration while supporting the reliability, performance and ongoing operation of the database environment. Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the planning, preparation and execution of database migration activities.
• Providing hands-on CA Datacom administration and troubleshooting.
• Investigating database performance issues and implementing improvements.
• Supporting database maintenance, backup and recovery activities.
• Validating changes and documenting procedures to support ongoing operations.
• Communicating technical issues, risks and progress clearly to the wider team.

To be successful, you'll bring:

• 10-15 years' experience as a CA Datacom DBA.
• Strong practical knowledge of Datacom administration within IBM mainframe environments.
• The ability to investigate and resolve complex issues independently.
• A disciplined approach to database stability, data integrity and change.
• Clear communication skills and confidence taking responsibility for your work.

Previous experience supporting Datacom migrations or upgrades would be valuable.
