Senior Data Engineer

Talenza are partnering with WorkCover Queensland to help them build a team for a new greenfield Snowflake data platform. As a Senior Data Engineer, you'll design and build the pipelines, data models and curated data products that power reporting, analytics and operational decision-making.

What you'll do

• Build and optimise scalable data pipelines, transformations and reusable data products.
• Develop data models and semantic layers for reporting and analytics.
• Apply automated testing, CI/CD, monitoring and deployment automation.
• Embed data quality, security, privacy, lineage and metadata into solutions.
• Support production platforms, resolve performance issues and mentor other engineers.

What you'll bring

• 5+ years delivering enterprise-scale data and analytics solutions.
• Strong Python and SQL skills, including Airflow DAG development.
• Snowflake preferred; strong Databricks experience considered.
• Experience with GitHub, GitHub Actions, CI/CD and automated testing.
• A coding mindset, with practical examples of using AI to accelerate delivery.
